Toda goes on an exciting, absurd journey when she has to flee from a war zone and look for her mother.

Ten-year-old Toda lives with her father, who bakes cakes and plays the trumpet. When he is suddenly drafted to fight in the war, she is left on her own. She begins an exciting, adventurous journey to a neighbouring country, where her mother lives, and where it’s safe. On the way, she learns to stand up for herself while she ends up in various absurd situations and meets many new people. Will Toda actually find her mother?
