The Low Countries during the Middle Ages. Printer Klaas Voeten is arrested by the Inquisition while printing an illegal but highly important letter for Martin Luther. His twelve-year-old son Storm ends up in possession of the original typeface, unexpectedly making him the subject of a man-hunt. With the help of Marieke, an orphan girl that lives in the tunnels under the city, Storm now has to race time in order to save his father from being burned at the stake.
